Our Story

Mercy Dogs was founded in 2024 by Nikki Musko after witnessing the life-changing impact of a service dog on a veteran friend. Inspired by personal loss and a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, Nikki launched a program dedicated to rescuing shelter dogs and transforming them into service animals for veterans and first responders — saving dogs and saving lives.

  • Alex & Havoc

    Alex & Havoc

Alex served his country with pride, but returning home brought challenges he never expected. Struggling with anxiety and the lingering effects of trauma, he found it difficult to feel secure in his daily life. He knew he needed support — not just for his well-being, but to regain the independence and confidence he once had.

  • Jeremy and Chase

    Jeremy & Chase

After serving multiple tours overseas, Charles returned home carrying the weight of the invisible scars of war. Daily life felt overwhelming, and even simple tasks often seemed out of reach. The transition back to civilian life left him searching for stability, purpose, and a way forward.

  • Charles and Blue

    Charles & Blue

After years of dedicated service, Jeremy came home carrying the weight of emotional wounds that made everyday life a constant battle. Crowded places triggered overwhelming stress, and even simple outings felt impossible. Jeremy longed for stability and comfort he couldn’t find on his own.
