Why It Matters

At Mercy Dogs, we believe in the healing power of the human-dog bond. By rescuing shelter dogs and training them to support veterans and first responders, we offer hope, comfort, and renewed independence —saving two lives at once.

From Heartbreak to Hope

Founded in 2024 by Nikki Musko, Mercy Dogs was born from witnessing the life-changing bond between a veteran and his service dog.

Inspired by personal loss and a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, Nikki turned compassion into action — creating a program that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to serve veterans and first responders living with PTSD or anxiety.

Each connection forged through Mercy Dogs is a testament to resilience, loyalty, and second chances — saving two lives at a time.
